Following the rained out first week of BUML, the new look Discheads looked to shake out the cobwebs vs the Disciples. Arriving at the new ultimate fields located at East Rugby Union club the game got off to a late start, allowing Coops and Foxy to kick off the late running Touch footy players.
The discheads got off to a cracking start going into the half time break with a 9-0 lead. There were a number of great moments during the first half, the return of Chris Fox saw 4-5 interceptions within one point, and great hard running from new recruits Steve & Simone. The addition of Brisbane hat MVP Sam, all the way from the UK via the sunshine coast, saw some great handling and disc movement up the field.
Helena in her sophomore year & always dedicated Electra really showed their developing skills by making great decisions and holding onto the disc , then making high value passes with all their possessions.
In a side where Dave Warren was the tallest player, the discheads managed to move the disc up the field faster than the Disciples and managed to end the Game 13-2.
The discheads will be hoping to step up a gear or two next week, as they taken on sister club the Agents, concentrating on reducing handling errors and taking advantage of good field position.
Until next time... 3...2...1... Diiiiissssc Heads
