History
Heroes began almost by accident. QUTies, the Queensland University of Technology team in the Yeronga Ultimate Frisbee League (YUFL), had grown on the back of continued good performances.
With this growth, there was soon too many players for one team. Huddy, Matt and Lauren, who had all started playing at the same time, decided to start a new team, and Huddy was unceremoniously nominated as captain/finder-of-other-players. After some frantic recruiting, and a lot of help and good grace from the league co-ordinator Mark Malloy, a team of new players, imports, and randoms came together to start playing the second week of the season. After some discussion, the team liked the name ‘Huddy’s Heroes’ above the other options, and so it began.

First Season
Huddy’s Heroes was low on skill, but high on enthusiasm. During the first few games a Huddy to Nathan long throw was regularly the main scoring option. As the players developed their skills and tactics, Huddy’s Heroes began to find their feet and competently spread the disc around for more scoring options. Stewart Gormal exemplified this by winning the YUFL's most improved award. Definitely a development team in a building phase, Huddy’s Heroes had a lot of fun and looked to the future brightly.

Second Season
Although there was some changing of personnel, Huddy’s Heroes were looking forward to the new season. Under the new name of Heroes, the team began to compete with other teams, and began it’s long and greatly spirited rivalry with Mellow Yellow. Although Heroes didn’t manage to overcome them at this point, these were the best games we had. Heroes avoided the wooden spoon, by managing to win several games, featuring one against sister team- QUTies (albeit QUT only had 6 players). Heroes were well on their way to becoming a cohesive unit, and again, their star was rising. To really show this, Heroes got their own uniform, designed by Sam Challis.

The last season in 2007 was a clique fun-time league. Huddy left at the end of 2007, handing the team over to Danny, beginning the second era of the Heroes Club - post-Huddy, pre-incorporation.

The Second Era. (2008 - 2010)
During this era in the club's history saw a great deal of growth. In the second season of 2009 saw the creation of a second team, Agent Orange which was made it up of familiar faces from either previous Heroes teams or friends of Heroes. Among these players, was the foundation Club President - Gavin Croft.  The very next season (season three 2009), a entirely separate team - Discheads- was founded by Josh Weier. In the coming year, Discheads (whom were made up of yet more friends of Heroes and Agents) joined the club.

Thus far, Heroes had exclusively been a Mixed club - entering in only the Brisbane Mixed Ultimate League (BUML). Until the males players formed the Heroes team, and entered the Brisbane Premier League, Season 1 in 2010. The boys had a steep learning curve ahead of them, but without doubt all grew as ultimate players as a result.

The club continued to grow, and this was demonstrated by the Club becoming incorporated during early 2011.

The Heroes Ultimate Club Incorporated Era (2011 - current)
The club sustained 4 teams in the regular leagues, and entering a Women's team in the WUFL in 2011 (Premiers). During this first incorporated year the club began to work towards higher level Ultimate, attending the 2011 Mixed Nationals in Melbourne and several club members making teams for Open and Women's Nationals in Brisbane for Ignition and Red Betty.

In 2012, these players continued to improve - tipified by Chris Brown becoming the first Heroes Club member to represent a top level team at Nationals (Firestorm, in Newcastle). This club culture is continuing in the near and distant future.
