Therefore, the MORETON BAY MUDDLE will be held on Saturday 2 July.

Speaking of upcoming tournaments, it's about 2 months until Halibut and BIC are on, and there are 2 seemingly Heroes-related teams registered for each ('Heroes', and 'In YOUR End Zone'), each with closed registration.
ReplyDeleteOnly speaking for myself here, but I'm keen as anything to play both, ideally with the HUC.
I was wondering if the Heroes leadership could make public anything that they know about who gets to be part of those teams? Or what the process is for making those decisions?
You know, if anything has been talked about just yet.
I second the request! If I'm not on Heroes I need to know now so I can go find a team, and in the absence of information I'll soon go find a team anyway just to be sure...

At this stage I dont know what is happening with each of these teams. The people who we should be asking are Danny, Sebastian and co. Are the HUC planning on entering a mixed nats team to halibut or whats going on. I demand internal club emails!!!

ReplyDeleteSteph: All of the women that have expressed interest in playing on Heroes for mixed nats and the lead up tournaments (Halibut, Lovefest etc) are very much welcome to play. At the moment there are about 6-7 ladies interested and this is just about the perfect number. The tournament is in August and so there is still a bit of time to confirm the teams.
ReplyDeleteLuke, Carl: We are planning on entering a mixed team into the lead up tournaments to mixed nats ie Halibut, lovefest as per the email I sent around a few weeks ago. Also, a timeline was given of training for this starting the first week of July. Perhaps it will start the last week of June, still to be confirmed. We will probably have a male selection week or two and then have the finalised squad by early July at the latest.
At the moment we have enough men interested to field 2 mixed teams but not enough ladies to field 2 teams. Therefore, we will have to have this selection process. We will try and be as transparent as possible with this process and will seek to have a range of criteria with which the selections will be made.

Thanks Seb. I have contacted Stef about our two teams. One team will indeed be our Mixed Nats team. I would like those who aren't selected to have a chance to be exposed to higher levels.
ReplyDeleteHalibut is one opportunity for this. As Sebastian says, the difficulty would be with getting numbers for women. Another issue would be captaincy. Carl - you have not put your name down for Mixed Nats. What are your intentions?
I would like the team named "In YOUR endzone" (Thanks Seb) to be comprised of Heroes players with room for pickups. LD Stef supports this.
