Got away with this one

From what the Heroes thought and read about the new Go Go's (plus the inside mole that we planted)  we thought last nights match was going to be a bit of a walk over. We were in actual fact surprised to go down 1-0 immediately with what was probably lazy D but def organized O from the GoGo's. Heroes were a bit slow and playing lazy ultimate (even though we got in early and did some good dump swing score drills).  We clawed through some longer points to bring the score to 3-3. Those points were so scrappy Im not even going to mention them.

Finally some composure on the disc saw the heroes pull out to 5-3 where we traded points once more to take the game to 8-5. Then the most incredibly silly error where Tomsteve decided to drop the pull in the end zone brought about a well organized straight stack which immediately broke the mark to score. 8-6.  
Griffith successfully broke their markers and pulled off a nice flow of play, bringing the disc close to their end zone and 8-7.

What resulted was a GoGo score in the end zone after a simple drop turn over at the back from Heroes. It was all to easy for the GoGo's to score. Given the fast speed of the equalizing score, and the fact that Griffith are still to post their first win, they decided that they wanted to continuing playing for the game. They showed incredible spirit to allow this to happen, given they could have taken the draw and first points. Heroes took the last point with a huck from Carl to Dave with relative ease to win 9-8.

From the Heroes secret hideout, Griffith GoGo's are definitely a team to keep an eye on. JDR has coached them fairly well and I would say their improvement is very similar to that of our own BUML side when we just started. Heroes could learn a lot from their play and their organized stacks and we had a great time. 3 cheers to the GoGo's and thanks for a top rated match.

One last thing, have the GoGo's officially taken the nicest team in the league spot away from the Heroes???
