Chris' explanation of the game is "biasly accurate". Indeed they came out strong and swinging; the Heroes took some early body blows. Obvioulsy the score line will not show just how freakish some of their points really were. There were more hammers in this game than in a Dojo season and some of the endzone grabs were just lucky (ie Chris' grab under chaddy). BUT in their defense and to their credit, DH's pulled these off on more than one occasion. In the middle part of the game, Heroes showed exactly how we wanted to play, and we did have the DH sideline getting sheepish. Some fundamental errors are what cost us the game, specifically a lazy force and being beaten 'up the line' (this is to be on the wrong side of your direct opponent) These points were the nail in the coffin. Best part of the game for mine was putting a huck out to LauraD (the real D) and seeing her go up against Bev in the endzone. I had every confidence in her, and what do you know, bev got out positioned by Laura and Laura scores.
Finally a word to the hereos
Things that hurt, instruct.
Well well. Discheads got more than the predicted zero points against heroes. BUT we have to note that they were freakishly earned, such as bev throwing a curved forehand to Sebastian twice. That's right, not once but twice did the disc FREAKISHLY fly in an arc in what must have seemed an impossible flight path. Freakishly Sebastian was in the right place at the right time for both throws. Another rare incident was seen when several hammers were taken comfortably on the chest in the endzone by discheads. This can only be described as freakish. But luckily the extreeemely difficult hammer, made even more difficult by the calm conditions, somehow made it's target and discheads added to their score.
ReplyDeleteWhen Chaddy mistimed his leap in the endzone and Chris timed his to perfection, discheads had another on the board. This however can only be seen as luck to have scored. Because skill in no way affects a players ability to read the disc, jump and land with it safely in hand. So count yourself lucky Christopher Brown!
Unfortunately the game was not won by the discheads, but was lost by the heroes. Fundamental errors, not including skill errors but simply errors of luck, saw the discheads somehow manage to score 15 times against the superior Heroes.
The heroes girls were incredible all night, playing savage and running hard. Grats on your awesome work girls!! (this is a serious comment, the girls were flippin awesome)
Heroes thanks for teaching us how to play, so that we can at least compete against you in the same division. Hopefully next time your fundamental errors don't cost you the game against a freakish display of throwing, cutting and catching.
hear hear!

ReplyDeleteVillain
Nar this is good to see. It means both of us really love the teams we're playing for and we are passionate about them, which is all anyone could really ask for in a player. So to see bev stand up for his team is great.
ReplyDeleteIn my defense, prehaps freakish was taken in the wrong light. Freakish implies brilliance, and we all know bev is brilliant.
anyways i still love you Bev
Also one other thing - This villain whoes been hanging around.
ReplyDeleteI'll be taking bets on the identity, but my best bet would be the slippery Jack
others thoughts or will the person come forward?
I hope everyone can see the incredible amount of tounge in check I wrote this with. In the spirit of the rest of the week's banter. Sorry to offend some but it wasnt honestly meant. An Anonymous suggested we (I) just look at the score board. And this is true. DH's won easily. I guess i made jealous comments and so again - sorry
