Heroes green with envy at Discheads dominance

This week saw the underrated Discheads face up against the overrated Heroes. After much anticipation and a fair amount of smack talk, many were keen to see which team would perform on the night. And the results are in!
The game started with underdogs Discheads firing from the get go, opening up a convincing lead of 6-1. This passage of play featured a good balance of superb in cuts and long options (including a sexy grab by Chris B over Chaddie to score) which seemed to decimate the Heroes zone. Perhaps the slow start was caused by ALL Heroes missing training the day before and almost the whole Discheads squad being in attendance.
Heroes did manage to lift though and managed to reel us in throughout the middle section of the match, and the worry was clear on the bench. I think it got to within 2 points before Discheads was able to stem the flow of points and the last frantic 15mins was just about blow for blow.
The end score saw the magnificent Discheads claim victory 15-11 at time cap. A big shout out to the Heroes girls who played savage all night and didn’t even take a time out! It got a little bit heated at times and a lot of frustration was evident on members of both teams during the match but it was definitely a very fun and intense match.
It was great to see an interclub match and I for one look forward to the next instalment potentially later this year.
